Jonathan Ng is i2Media's director of IT and multimedia. In this capacity, he is responsible for the development and maintenance of the company's core proprietary technologies and operational resources as well as the company's integrated systems architecture. He is also a key member of the company's strategy team and his good understanding of technology coupled with an eye for detail have resulted in the creation numerous innovative Internet and software applications for i2Media and its clients.
Among them: an application for remote content update as well as online ad targeting and reporting. Recognized as an expert in developing "front-end" systems for the stockbroking industry, Jonathan was part of a team of developers who won the 1996 PIKOM/Computimes IT Product of the Year (Software) for the desktop broking application at his former workplace – a KLSE-listed software development house. In his capacity as an application engineer then, he was involved in the development of a stock price information display system as well as the desktop and Internet stockbroking systems.
A Microsoft Certified Professional, Jonathan obtained his higher and graduate diplomas in computer science from Kolej Damansara Utama and his Master of Science degree in Information Technology in Business from University of Lincolnshire and Humberside.
When he is not hooked online, watching movies or eyeing the latest electronic gadgets, Jonathan enjoys cooking (and good food) and baking (call and ask him about his legendary fruit cake). Also, check him out on The Weekend Chef, a website dedicated to men and women who love to cook and have done well creating some of the finest culinary delights without professional training. This website was created with his input in the middle of 2005 and is gradually being transformed into a cooking and food site to be reckoned with.
Jonathan also spends a great deal of his time researching and understanding current and emerging technologies to provide the company and its clients with value-added advice and consulting.
